Weekend: ENGLAND!

I can’t believe it’s already the 2nd of December! That means my Monday morning started with 2 pieces of my advent calendar chocolate bar! Small things!
Advent Calendar
I have to say that my first weekend in England feels more like a week, just because I managed to get so much done. I’m all cobwebby and dusty at the moment as I’ve spent today running up and down into the attic, trying to clear out some of my things! I feel insanely energised after going to bed really early last night after a long weekend! But this pile that I need to sort out makes me kind of feel exhausted!

Goodbye Korea!

It’s a grey and rainy November morning in England. We finally got back last night after a long, long journey. It doesn’t feel like we’ve actually left Korea, it feels like we’ll be going back in a week or so! We’ve met so many amazing people and done hundreds of things I never though I would do. No doubt there’ll be some nostalgic posts in the weeks to come.

But our last couple of days in Korea were very hectic and I was relieved to get on the plane after what felt like a long week!

On Friday I said goodbye to all of my students and co teachers. It was really sad to say goodbye as it may be the last time that I see them again. They were all really cute and gave me some gifts, letters and cards.

What’s in my Bag?

Ahhh packing. I view it with equal amounts of loathing and love. I love being prepared and organised, but at the same time it’s such a stress. I’m always whittling, does it weigh too much? Is it all going to fit in? I remember my first ever post on this blog was about how hard it was to pack for Korea. Now I’ve spent 2 years here and have to try and get everything I’ve acquired back again. I don’t know what’s more stressful!

I have just managed to get 6 bags down to 2 suitcases and my hand luggage. So here’re the things I didn’t need to think twice about packing for my hand luggage on the long flight. (13 and a half hours in total…oh no!)

Our Weekend: Coupling last weekend in Busan

A long, long time ago, I mentioned about coupling in Korea. This is where young couples coordinate their outfits so they’re wearing the same thing as a public display of their love for each other. Quite sickening, but cute at the same time. It’s been an ongoing joke with the girls about making the boys couple, so for our leaving do, Nick and I decided to set coupling as the theme! I always wonder if the couples have to call each other in the morning and ask what they’re going to put on. Do they couple on days when they’re not going to see each other? So many questions!

We gave the girls a budget, and they were let loose to buy an outfit for their loved one and themselves. Needless to say, hilarity ensued when we all met up on Saturday night and unveiled the outfits! It didn’t take long before the boys made it clear that they actually liked their outfits.

Final Korean Date Night

When Nick and I first got together, we would only ever see each other at the weekend because of how busy we used to be. Eventually it got to the point where we spent more time together, so decided to always try and keep one free night in the week to do something.

We used to try and do something new or different and would alternate weeks with secret planning and conniving. We were always trying to out do each other with grand or unusual plans. Eventually though, it got to the point where saving money for our next adventure was more important than exploring the hidden nooks and crannies of Busan, so that came to an end. But as our Busan days are numbered, we decided to have one last date night before we left.

Little Bits of Love

To be honest, this hasn’t been the best week to look back fondly on my time in Korea. In fact, it’s been super stressful, to the point where there’s been lots tears and grumpy moods. There’s been arguments, air line stress and open classes that went so badly that I thought they were only possible to imagine in my nervous wittling brain. All of this whilst trying to pack and clean my apartment.

BUT the open classes are over now, I went for dinner with my lovely co-teachers last night and it was nice to see them all happy and chatting. It’s good to know that even though I will be gone a few months early, that Tasha will have some lovely people surrounding her at school. I also said goodbye to the principle yesterday morning, as he will be out on business on my last few days. Another stress off my mind. What do you think to my Korean alphabet in the note that I wrote him? The teachers laugh and say it looks like a baby’s writing! Boo!

The Best of Korean Make up Trash, Treat or Stash

Well the time has come for me to drop the curtain on the Korean Make Up series of Trash, Treat or Stash. There’s only one week left before I have to say goodbye to my beloved Etude House, Tony Moly and Skin Food shops. I’m not quite sure what I’ll do without them, but I know that my Boots point card may soften the blow a little back in the UK.

It seems like so many people out there share my love of Korean make up products, as the Trash, Treat or Stash posts became the most viewed on my blog. It was a massive surprise as I wasn’t really sure if this was the right place for reviewing make up.

So, I thought I would make it a special edition this week and pick the overall category winners of all of the products that I’ve used over the past year and a half, done in the style of a fancy film award ceremony.

Let’s start with my personal favourite category…

Our Weekend: Bosu Book Alley in Busan

It’s so cold outside today! I hope everyone is keeping nice and toasty! Sorry this is a day late but I was too excited to share the giveaway with you. We only have one weekend left until we’re headed back to the UK. I’m already excitedly planning the three weekends that I’m going to have at home before we’re off to Argentina. Where has the time gone?!

The weekend started early as half of my classes were cancelled at school on Friday, so from 11:40 I was free to get lots of stuff done that I’d been putting off. Then, after school I went with my co-teachers for some food and drinks in Nampo. As it was Dan’s birthday, we made our way down to his end of town later and met him for a bit of dinner.
