In trying to fit in

:

I have a habit.
A habit to dress-up or look like locals.
Yes, sometime I can be those wanna-be girls.

When I lived in Saudi Arabia, I used to dress and makeup like how locals do.
I would search for the best abaya and local eyeliner to create ‘the look’.
Although, I might look out-of place, what the heck, I don’t care.

Now in South Korea, it makes me want to fit-in more due to ethnocentrism culture.
However, it’s quite hard to fit-in fashion style, as I am considered fat big in Korea.
In the end, I have to shop at global brand, which doesn’t really fit in my habit conscious.

Apart from clothes, eye wear is one fashion accessory that young Korean always wear.

Apart from clothes, eye wear is one fashion accessory that young Korean always wear.
Some use it as necessity, some wear the frame with no glass.
(I have to admit, sometimes I feel like poking the eyes through the frame)
It’s those unique big and large eye wear frame.

So, finally I found this shop at called ALO at Myeong-dong.
A lot of glasses to choose from starting from 29,000 won (without glass) to premium price.
Once entered, you will encounter dark ambiance with runaway music-like.
To add excitement, there’s LCD display of advertisement.
Lot’s of people pouring in and out, as it seems quite famous.

What’s interesting, you can just go in and try the sample of eye wear as displayed on the counters.
This shop have some very unique designs and play silly if you want.

However, I love the staff’s ability to carry the funky eye wear look.
It always looks cool on them, but not me. 🙁

Most frames are made from plastic, and some; soft steel-like material.
Apparently, this shop is quite famous because….

Some are collaborated with local designer, Juun J.

This shop features local Korean celebrity.
