So Many Things
by  Sillygirl

I awoke this morning to thoughts of you,
Sweet taste that left my tongue too soon,
Sunset missed in vain.
I wish I could say I'll catch you tomorrow
I wish I understood a purpose for sorrow.
Wishes, dreams and life
Within one violent second lost
Can flashes of memory fathom the cost?
Where are you now
My love made friend?
For I fear you've learned too much.
Years of you stretch behind me
Moments, hours, chances lie in waste
While fright and anger burn unplaced.
Tigers in hell I would have fought
For you to know so many things.
Tell me you can hear my prayers
My hands will never again unfold!
Come to me in the silent stillness of a dream
I will sleep my days away in wait!
What time cannot define is cursed
For must I wed without your toast?
Give birth without your tears dear friend?
And when too old to write my maddness
Must you remain unaged?
Lost I ache and thirst for Why
Doubting words of Will.
So many things I miss.
So many things.
